NURSERY & PRE-SCHOOL POLICIES

Policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for your child.

Sign-In Procedures

  • The child's parent or guardian must complete and fill-in all information on the sign-in sheet. A pick-up ticket will be given to the parent or guardian and a matching identifying tag will be placed on each child.
  • Care Staff are responsible for transferring your child's belonging into the care area. Please provide a bottle/sippy cup, appropriate formula, diapers, pacifier and a change of clothes.

Pick-Up Procedures

  • Present your child claim ticket to the Care Staff. This is a consistently ensured policy that keeps you and your child safe (we want to make sure your child goes home with the right people).
  • Care Staff are responsible for bringing your child and their belongins to their parent or guardian.
  • Please pick-up your child immediately following the venue service.

What to do if the parent or guardian is needed ...

  • We take the hassle and inconvenience out of the need to "check on your child." Our volunteer Care Staff are trained and have undergone national background and separate reference checks. In the event that the parent or guardian is needed, a Care Staff member will inform you in the venue you are attending. In some venues, the identifying number/tag that was given to you upon check-in will be displayed during the service on a small electronic display. The small display is positioned near the front of the venue room.
  • If your child's identifying number is displayed or volunteer contacts you during a venue service, please see the Care Staff in the Nursery & Pre-School area for details.

Restroom and Diaper Hygiene & Safety

  • Only full-time Care Staff are authorized to change diapers or assist/take your child to the restroom. Restroom facility use is monitored by Care Staff with an open door to ensure child safety.

Health Concerns

  • To ensure a healthy and safe environment for the Care Staff and all children, we ask that you DO NOT bring your child to the Nursery & Pre-School area if they display the any of the following symptons:

Fever; Runny nose with discolored mucus; Questionable rash; Constant or raspy cough; Diarrhea or vomiting.
  • We advise keeping your child at home until they have been symptom free without the aid of any medication or antibiotics for a 24-hour period.

Child Discipline

  • Age-appropriate discipline applies only to toddler-aged children.
  • We believe that discipline is crucial in learning to obey and respect those in authority as well as for the safety of others. Please be aware that no physcial punishment is allowed in the Nursery & Pre-School area. Instead, verbal warnings, loss of particular toys and the use of short time-outs will be administered by the Care Staff.
